Future of chess in Malaysia..? <<<<>>>

Hi guys, anyone wonder why chess in Malaysia is going down? Well for example, Mas Hafizulhelmi, Nicholas Chan, Mok Tze Meng and other top guns of Malaysian chess (the slightly older generation) aren't being replaced by a better chess-playing generation nowadays. At this point, you'd probably be thinking that the main reason of the drop in level is that the current generation is too lazy to spend time for chess or that they're simple talentless. I don't think so...

I started playing chess when I was 8 years old and my first National Age-Group Championship was held in a beautiful hall at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC). Just after that, it was shifted to Pearl Point hotel which is at about the same standards if not slightly worse than the previous venue. Then the bad things started happening...shifted to Wilayah Complex, and believe it or not...one day when there was a tournament in Wilayah Complex, I thought they had mistakenly stated that the tournament venue was on the 4th floor...when I thought that it was only a car park(guess what happened...?). Since then even prestigious national tournaments were being held in that car park...WOW!! National Juniors 2008 was a reasonable success as the playing hall was good. Then came 2009! They had to hold such a prestigious National Juniors tournament in a SCHOOL SCIENCE LAB!!

I won't be surprised if in another 5 years, they might start holding chess tournaments near coffee shops and after that....under a tree?
